Delta Society Welcomes New Therapy Dog

Sadie therapy dogOur own Sadie has joined the ranks as a new member of The Delta Society, as Therapy Dog. Delta Society is an international organization that was founded in Wisconsin. The group trains dogs and humans to be therapy dogs to visit people in hospitals, nursing homes, and for rehabilitation assistants in animal-assisted activity and animal-assisted therapy programs. The Pet Partners program is the only therapy dog group that trains and certifies the human or handler, in addition to the dog. All other groups only focus on the dog.

We will visit hospitals in the Madison-area, and hope to establish a program at the VA Hospital in the future.

Congratulations Sadie!

Lots of good info on your blog/newsletter. One correction about Delta Society - it was founded in 1977 in Portland, Oregon (not Wisconsin.)
